When Nat Geo chose Kerala as one of the dream destinations to be before you die, they were not wrong. I can cut that from the list as I was born and bought up in God's own country.
Even though I still crib about the roads, power cuts, communists (read unions) well its there in all other states (in India atleast) as well, minus the unions.

Alapuzha-Changanachery road is also known for the accidents as it has long straight stretches where the bikers (read 16 year old on a 200CC vehicle with no helmets) race.
As for the humps, thank God, there was a sign atleast.

cant believe that they havnt put any kind of signs in that wide road..

Despite of few flaws(political) kerela is the best...For the people who are comparing kerala with other states----most of our places are given equal priority in development unlike patty kads in AP,TN, karnataka orissa etc.and also we have strong and vigilant medias to expose even tiny flaws...anyways east or west kerala is the best :)

Can understand the feeling... even for us vacation means taking a flight to India/Kerala.. just to take in all those wonderful scenes that you have captured so well...

but the State can do much better if the authorities have the will.... but as you said things may change very soon, specially TVM..(the widened roads, the new Airport Terminal etc.)
... as for signs there were never any even when they started those 'one way' roads way back.. I still remember how my Father was caught by the traffic police once but he was let off since our car had the Tamil Nadu registration..
