They all take credit to themselves "I did"
6 This is a challenge to all mainstream directors/producers - Take it as a challenge and create a movie for double the cost (10 Lakhs) - Santhosh created this for 5 Lakhs with some imperfections.
7 Last but not least - Santhosh - You are a genius and we mallus are so proud of you ..Jo-Thomasnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2322276660687375585.post-53534954950072843422011-11-18T14:00:38.853+00:002011-11-18T14:00:38.853+00:00http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eS-RN853hro

I did not say that. Why did his videos get so much airtime in social media? The videos of his movies just deserved one response - indifference. But no. We had to share it and make fun of it, right? Neither you nor me can say whether he actually knows what he is doing. Its our beliefs, of course. But these are days when when there are many people out there cashing on negative publicity - rakhi, and all the big boss participants - they all know its negative publicity which banks on some bias, indulgence etc that we all have.
I dont think that his second movie will be a hit. Even shakeela's movie after sometime started flopping - the novelty will die- so i am not worried about malayalam cinema standards or anything -
But then, if krishnanum... succeeded the first time, even after all the responses online, it was only because the online abusers went to theatre to abuse offline. I am not saying they will do it the next time.Preethinoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2322276660687375585.post-65109225364751559762011-11-14T23:59:59.044+00:002011-11-14T23:59:59.044+00:00- Preethi, I'm inclined to believe that Santho...- Preethi, I'm inclined to believe that Santhosh UNDERSTANDS the issue people are having with him and his film. I disagree to the claims that he is doing this on purpose and that he is shrewd and intelligent, and that all these are calculated 'assaults' on the declining standards of Malayalam films. No. In fact, there is enough and more to suggest that he is indeed the 'accidental' super-hero, courtesy our nouveau social media.

There is evident deviancy in his behaviour, suggested in the comment below us (by Tom Greg), the sorry aspect being himself the lone guy who hasn't recognized that. Rebecca Black and Silsila Harishankar are on a different planet altogether but I don't think Santhosh will ever get to understand what he really has become instead of what he THINKS he has become.scorpiogeniushttp://www.scorpiogenius.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2322276660687375585.post-33001821639613455692011-11-14T15:45:47.139+00:002011-11-14T15:45:47.139+00:00BEING A DOC I CAN GUARENTEE THAT THIS GUY IS HAVIN...BEING A DOC I CAN GUARENTEE THAT THIS GUY IS HAVING SOME DELUSIONAL DISORDER..THESE PEOPLE DONT AGREE EVEN WHEN EVIDENCE CONTRARY TO THEIR BELIEFS ARE SHOWN...SOME PEOPLE ARE GIVING HIM THE UNDER DOG SYMAPTHY..THEY TRY TO IDENTIFY HIM TO THEMSELVES AS THEY ARE UNDERDOGS IN THEIR OWN FIELDS..tom greghttp://twitter.com/drthommynoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2322276660687375585.post-19819813123559712622011-11-14T14:49:14.325+00:002011-11-14T14:49:14.325+00:00Anish,

Santosh cashed in on the "puchamanobhaavam" of the malayalee. Thats all. I cant believe that he is not aware of all the responses he is getting. Do you think Rakhi Sawant does not know the jokes on her. Santosh knows, only too well, how a malayalee would respond to someone like him. As the author in the link says, the male malayalee loves to curse so much, that they would even pay money to do that.Preethinoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2322276660687375585.post-61079139269771429252011-11-14T14:07:28.565+00:002011-11-14T14:07:28.565+00:00Vadakkus, spot on! I donno if any other 'paathalam' is deeper than where he has brought the industry to, but I believe at least some talented, young film-lovers would now come forward to make their own films rather than knocking at the doors of their 'potential' Godfathers. If Santhosh could do 18 works in the worst possible way, imagine what 18 talented guys who know and love movies could do,if they come together!

Preethi, tnx for the #fb link. The author has gone a long way overboard talking about caste and stuff, hasn't he? The only connection I saw was the 'male' audience. But hey, Aaram Thampuran roped in families to cinema halls like never before! Well?

HK, bottomline is that SP got what he wanted. Not sure if he got what he deserved but we all certainly got what we deserve. Even such pathetic mediocrity sells, even if it is for a reason but what pisses me off is that 'Adaminte maken Abu' still won't have distributors :(

MValappil, let's certainly hope so! If a dumb-head and his 5 lakhs could do this much then it certainly will inspire a few level headed ones to try the formula out. I hope new film makers must give a try at Parody Film genre, which has not been tested yet for reasons we could only imagine. It could touch a few raw nerves, now isn't that what we want? ;)

Raagee, thanks for the comment dear. Exactly! The..."He still does not get it." Exactly! The guy really thinks he has conquered Malayalam cinema, but does not get it that people "praise" him to make a fool out of him and go to watch his movie only to make fun of it. He seems to be unaware on how the world works. Show him Dasaratham or Phayalvan, and he will not be able to understand what is so great about it. I absolutely loathe him only for his arrogance and self-importance, but actually praise him for his total lack of shame, rhino-like skin and commitment.

He himself repeats in every interview that "He has done everything for the film and therefore deserves greatness". And of course, proudly adds on that he is has "spoken to someone in New York" and has come to know that his videos are the most viewed in Asia in the history of the internet! Call me self-righteous or high headed or whatever, but I simply cannot take ignorance, stupidity, mediocrity and gimmickry and term it as "greatness", when there are plenty of real talented people around who are struggling to be seen and recognized.

Harishankar Kalavoor of Silsila fame was much better than this guy, and I hope this entire thing will not grow into a parallel cinema movement of mediocre trash like the soft-porn wave of the early 2000s that almost killed Malayalam cinema.vinod vadakkadathhttp://twitter.com/vadakkusnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2322276660687375585.post-799151076333331262011-11-14T08:05:51.237+00:002011-11-14T08:05:51.237+00:00Another view - https://www.facebook.com/note.php?...Another view - https://www.facebook.com/note.php?note_id=10150923211415258
Santosh could be just another smart, but cynical director :)Preethinoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2322276660687375585.post-89706221182190326492011-11-14T06:57:35.291+00:002011-11-14T06:57:35.291+00:00Tried my best to watch this phenomenon.... failed ...Tried my best to watch this phenomenon.... failed miserably :) a very sad chapter for the Malayalam cinema... ..

the latest cinemala did a good take on him....and let me try to repeat the last line from them.. if our current film directors do not do a good job, then people like Santhosh Pandit will continue to sit on their chairs..Happy Kittennoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2322276660687375585.post-82843495468092367442011-11-14T06:16:21.227+00:002011-11-14T06:16:21.227+00:00There are many young talented people out there for...There are many young talented people out there for sure! They might be not coming out for lack of confidence and not willing to take risk.
