after all the hype abt Argentina this is the first question that came to my mind... how could they play such a pathetic game! though I am not a big fan of football some of us are forced into the excitement of the game since the fever catches the men folks faster.... and the only person pitching for Germany was our son and that was only since he lost to his neighbour and played it safe. ( though only in the 4th std, she did irk my 8th std son too much for Brazil's loss)

nd even here in Kuwait t Biriyani was served by the Brzil fans when Argentina lost the match!

Maradona is the one who made Argentina popoular in this part of the world, I guess. One thing I have noticed is that there are people who blindly follow Argentina and Brazil. I have even asked some such fans to name a few players from these teams. Most people fail to give the names of more than two-three players. It is more of a passion towards the team 'name' and jerseys rather than the knowledge of their tactics and player capabilities that make people follow such big names. But it is good to have such crazy fans!

Glad to see both Brazil and Argentina go out. Have been a Germany fan ever since 1986 when Maradona's Argentina was toast of India. Still remember my dad, brother and all my friends celebrating when Argentina won the world cup and me being the only one mourning at Germany's loss.

24 years later, its still Germany for me. But honestly, before the world cup began, i hardly gave them half a chance.
